Shift Details:

+ 6 Month assignment

+ Mon-Fri 0800-1400

+ ORIENT 4 Weeks

Licensed Physician Duties & Responsibilities:

+ The Physician is responsible for assessing and treating patients’ physical health including conducting exams and coordinating outside referrals.

+ The role includes oversight of clinical care activities provided by ARNPs, documentation, and after-hours on-call responsibilities.

+ This position performs minor procedures and collaborates with psychiatric and interdisciplinary staff to ensure integrated care.

+ Physicians also educate patients and families, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and tailor treatment plans to the patient’s age and development.

+ Travel may be required depending on facility needs, and work is primarily in correctional or clinical settings.

+ Assess patients’ physical health through examinations and diagnostic procedures

+ Provide and oversee documentation, outside referrals, consultations, and follow-ups

+ Offer clinical oversight and support to ARNPs, including care provision and documentation review

+ Perform minor medical procedures such as sutures, IV placement, and lumbar puncture

+ Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff and provide education to patients and families

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Medical doctorate (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university

+ Two (2) years post-residency clinical experience in an outpatient/inpatient setting

+ Psychiatric experience preferred

+ Licensed in the state of employment

+ Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and applicable certifications

+ Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine

+ Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

+ Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
