POSITION SCOPE
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely delivering, moving, loading and unloading a variety of items on construction sites. Must be able to run a 70,000lb forklift, moving and loading panels in confined spaces normally less than 50' in width. Seeking experienced forklift operators!
PRIMARY DUTIES
Loading and unloading materials from a variety of vehicles
Moving pallet-packed materials around the site or storage facility
Checking loads are secure
Performing equipment checks and basic maintenance
Following written instructions and keeping records
Adhering to health and safety regulations
Checks that loads are centered and properly stacked
Determines when repairs need to be made on equipment
Completing physical tasks quickly and accurately
Be compliant with OSHA rules and regulations as well as all company policies
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
18 years of age or older
High School Diploma or GED
Prior experience as a forklift operator
Must be able to work nights and weekends
Forklift or heavy machinery certification
Completion of forklift driving course, a plus
Previous OSHA training a plus
Valid Driver's License
Ability to read and understand packaging, shipping documents, and safety guidelines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to perform basic math
Excellent hand-eye coordination, peripheral vision, and ability with spatial relationships
Efficient individual with excellent time management skills
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Attention to detail
Working knowledge of basic tools and vehicle maintenance a plus
