Position Details

+ Schedule: Monday-Friday

+ Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

+ 40 Hours Per Week

+ Pay: $50/hour local

Classroom Environment

+ Self-Contained Autism Classroom

+ 3rd-4th Grade Students

+ Dedicated support team including 3 paraprofessionals

+ Students benefit from individualized instruction, behavioral supports, and structured learning environments

Responsibilities

+ Develop and implement IEPs

+ Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs

+ Support academic, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional development

+ Collaborate with paraprofessionals, administrators, therapists, and families

+ Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation

+ Implement positive behavior supports and intervention strategies

+ Foster a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment

Qualifications

+ Active Arizona Special Education Certification

+ Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

+ Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred

+ Strong classroom management and collaboration skills

+ Experience in self-contained special education settings preferred

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

Minimum Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred

+ Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations

+ Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred

+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred

+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred

+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred

+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

+ Current CPR if applicable

+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
