Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in a self-contained high school classroom in Scottsdale, AZ. This is an outstanding opportunity for an educator who enjoys providing highly individualized instruction and building meaningful relationships with students to support their academic, behavioral, and life-skills development.

With an exceptionally small caseload and dedicated paraprofessional support, this role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact while working in a collaborative and student-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

+ Provide specialized instruction aligned with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).

+ Develop, implement, and monitor academic and functional goals.

+ Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.

+ Collaborate with families, administrators, therapists, and support staff.

+ Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance records.

+ Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.

+ Foster a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.

+ Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district special education requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

+ Valid state teaching certification as required by state and district regulations.

+ Special Education Teaching Certification preferred and may be required by the district.

+ Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred.

+ Current CPR certification, if applicable.

+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if applicable.

+ Current health certificate, if required.

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.

+ Must be at least 18 years of age.

+ Compliance with all professional standards of practice.

+ Support Staff: 2 Dedicated 1:1 Paraprofessionals

+ Schedule: 40 hours per week

+ Contract Length: 9 Months

+ Medical Support Level: Level 2

+ Behavioral Support Level: Medium

+ Charting System: MTC

+ Interview Required: Yes

+ Interview Process: Virtual Interview and Campus Tour

Compensation

Local Candidates

?? Up to $49/hour

Travel Candidates

?? Up to $1,999 Weekly Gross Pay Package

?? Includes eligible weekly stipends:

+ $791 Housing Stipend

+ $602 Meals & Incidentals Stipend
