Job Description
Position Summary
The Retail Warehouse Selector is responsible for accurately selecting, handling, palletizing, wrapping, and staging products for customer orders. This position uses pick sheets, labels, warehouse equipment, and Company procedures to build accurate and stable pallets for shipment while maintaining product quality, warehouse safety, and a clean, organized work environment.
Essential Job Functions
· Accurately select products according to pick sheets, labels, order forms, or other Company-approved selection instructions.
· Pick, handle, stack, palletize, wrap, and stage cases, boxes, bags, pallets, and other products for shipment or delivery.
· Build stable, accurate, and organized pallets to reduce product damage, load issues, and delivery errors.
· Verify product quantity, item description, labels, and order accuracy during the selection process.
· Report damaged, missing, mislabeled, out-of-stock, or incorrect products to the Warehouse Manager or designated supervisor.
· Operate electric pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks, sit-down forklifts, and other approved warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
· Complete required powered equipment inspections and safety checklists before operating equipment.
· Safely maneuver equipment in warehouse aisles, loading areas, dock areas, cooler/freezer areas, and other designated work areas.
· Support replenishment, pre-pack, pallet consolidation, loading, unloading, returns, and other warehouse functions as assigned.
· Move selected products to assigned staging areas, shipping lanes, or loading areas according to Company procedures.
· Maintain product integrity by following Company procedures for handling, rotation, cleanliness, and damage reporting.
· Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary, and safe work environment.
· Organize and prioritize work assignments to meet order selection schedules, shipping deadlines, and operational needs.
Minimum Qualifications
· Previous warehouse, order selecting, distribution, inventory, or related experience preferred.
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Ability to accurately select products according to pick sheets, labels, order forms, or other Company-approved selection instructions.
· Ability to build stable, accurate, and organized pallets for shipment or delivery.
· Ability to identify and report damaged, missing, mislabeled, out-of-stock, or incorrect products.
· Ability to safely operate or learn to operate approved warehouse equipment, including electric pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks, sit-down forklifts, and related material handling equipment.
· Basic ability to use warehouse technology, pick labels, scanners, inventory systems, or other Company-approved systems as required.
· Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
· Ability to communicate professionally with supervisors, warehouse personnel, drivers, and other internal teams.
· Ability to follow Company safety procedures, food safety requirements, equipment inspection procedures, and warehouse housekeeping standards.
Schedule Requirements
· Ability to work the assigned schedule, including start times based on order selection, shipping schedules, warehouse workflow, and operational needs.
· Ability to work overtime, weekends, or schedule changes as needed based on business needs.
· Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, climb, push, pull, lift, and carry as required during warehouse order selection, palletizing, staging, and related activities.
· Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move products weighing up to 50 pounds as required.
· Ability to operate warehouse equipment and move palletized products in warehouses, dock, cooler, and freezer environments.
· Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks in a fast-paced warehouse setting for extended periods.
Work Environment
· Work is performed in warehouse, dock, order selection, dry storage, cooler, and freezer environments.
· Position may require exposure to varying temperatures, humidity levels, refrigerated areas, freezer areas, moving equipment, palletized products, loading docks, and truck traffic.
· Employees must follow all Company safety procedures, food safety requirements, PPE standards, equipment safety rules, and warehouse housekeeping expectations.
