A. Course Objective
Description: earn diagnostic medical imaging, equipment operation, radiographic procedures, patient care, and radiation safety and protection.


Competencies to be achieved: Upon successful completion of the Radiologic Technology AAS Degree program, the graduate will be able to:
• Apply positioning skills, select technical factors, utilize radiation protection and be competent in the clinical setting
• Demonstrate written and oral communication skills
• Critique images to determine diagnostic quality
• Adapt standard procedures for non-routine patients
• Demonstrate work ethics and the value of life-long learning

Fingerprinting and criminal background information may be a part of many state and federal licensing and certification processes.
• Other requirements needed: Students are required to attend an Allied Health Programs Information Session before seeing a Student Services Center advisor about entering this program. These sessions provide important information about program eligibility, requirements, costs and more. Students must have completed the following (with grades posted) before they may begin the application process. REA 112HP** Critical Reading for Health Professions with a grade of B or higher, HCA 100 or STU 100 OR Accuplacer Reading score of 92 or higher, BIO 156IN Introductory Biology for Allied Health, MAT 151 or higher with a grade of C or higher within the last four years, or placement into MAT 189 in the last four years.
