Course Objective:
Description: The Computer Programming Certificate emphasizes knowledge and skills required to design, develop, test, and document structured and object-oriented programs utilizing a variety of programming languages. It prepares students for entry-level positions in computer programming. Successful completion may lead to Certified Software Development Professional and Oracle Certified Java Programmer.


Competencies to be achieved:
* Understand different network topologies and their structure
* Install Windows 2000 server.
* Install Windows 2000 workstation.
* Create an active directory in Windows 2000 server.
* Create and modify user accounts.
* Create and modify server policies.
* Install and configure Internet information server.
* Join Windows 2000 workstation to a domain.
* Configure DNS on Windows 2000 server.
* Configure a DHCP server.
* Configure a WINS server.
* Build a trust relationship between two servers.
* Test the network to insure that the network is functioning properly.
* Demonstrate an understanding of numeric data types and variables.
* Apply decision-making techniques.
* Validate input with strings and functions.
* Understand repetition techniques in programming.

* Create and use dialog controls common to Windows and structured error handling.
* Create a multiple-document application.
* Create reusable components with classes.
* Deploy a VB.NET application.
* Develop and use Applets.
* Apply inheritance concepts.
* Understand swing components; use layout managers and the event model.
* Create exception handling instances.
* Create multi-thread and animation
* Create user-defined data types.
* Create user-defined functions.
* Apply recursion methodology.
* Create records.
* Understand the differences between records and classes.
* Create lists, linked lists using pointers.
* Use overload functions.
* Create and use stacks and queues.
* Apply the searching and sorting techniques.
* Organize data in a binary search tree.
* Insert and delete items in a binary search tree.
* Develop documentation techniques throughout the program development cycle.
