CNA to Assisted Living Caregiver Bridge Program

(Arizona Approved Training Program)

Course Objective

This program is designed for currently certified Arizona Nursing Assistants (CNAs) seeking to transition into the Assisted Living setting under updated Arizona regulations.


The program prepares students to successfully pass the Assisted Living Caregiver State Examination through the Arizona Nursing Care Institution Administrators and Assisted Living Facility Managers Board (NCIA Board).


Students complete 22 hours of training, including required medication management instruction, to meet state requirements.


Upon successful completion of the program and passing the required state examination, students are eligible to work as Assisted Living Caregivers in Arizona.

Minimum Requirements


  • Current Arizona Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or license

  • Ability to obtain an Arizona DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card

  • High School Diploma or GED

    • OR pass an admissions entrance exam administered by Academy On-Demand

Students will gain the knowledge and skills required for Assisted Living Care, including:



  • Vital signs and resident monitoring

  • Medication management and assistance

  • Levels of care in Assisted Living

  • Resident rights and person-centered care

  • Communication and documentation

  • Professional responsibilities in caregiving environments

  • Tuition: $690.00


  • Student Equipment Kit (BP cuff, stethoscope, gait belt): $100.00


  • Administration & Technology Fee: $250.00


  • CPR / First Aid / AED Certification*: $60.00

  • Assisted Living Caregiver State Examination (NCIA Board): $65.00

Additional Cost Notes*


  • Scrubs are required for training but are not included in program cost.

  • CPR certification is only required if the student does not already possess a valid certification.

  • Fingerprint clearance card may be required prior to employment depending on employer requirements.

  • Some items may already be satisfied if the student has current documentation or certifications.
