Description

Introduction to carpentry safety, hand and power tool operation, blueprint reading, materials, and layout. Hands-on experience in cutting, fastening, footings, framing, assembly, door/window installation, flooring, and finishing.

Program Outcomes


Upon successful completion of the Basic Carpentry Certificate program, the learner will be able to:


Demonstrate safe operations with construction materials, tools, and equipment.
Demonstrate trade-appropriate dress and behavior.
Assemble residential home components, from rough to finish.
Construct all components of a residential build from rough to finish.
Install floors, walls, ceilings, doors and windows for a residential build.
