Program Objective:


Earners of the Intuit Certified Bookkeeping Professional certificate have demonstrated competency in essential accounting and bookkeeping principles required for entry-level bookkeeping roles. Core competencies assessed include accounting fundamentals; asset, sales, and purchase transactions; liabilities and equity; account reconciliation; and the preparation and analysis of financial statements.


Program Description:
The Intuit Certified Bookkeeping Professional program builds a foundation in core bookkeeping concepts and accounting measurement. Participants learn to navigate the full accounting cycle, produce key financial statements, and interpret and analyze financial data to support informed business decision-making.


Competencies to be achieved: 




  • Bookkeeping Basics 

    • Define accounting and core concepts of accounting measurement

    • Explain the role of a bookkeeper and common bookkeeping tasks and responsibilities

    • Summarize the double-entry accounting method

    • Explain ethical and professional responsibilities related to the integrity of financial information




  • Assets in Accounting

    • Identify common types of business assets

    • Describe the importance of internal controls over inventory

    • Explain how depreciation expense is reported on the income statement

    • Record transactions and analyze their impact on the accounting equation



  • Liabilities and Equity in Accounting

    • Describe key characteristics of liabilities

    • Demonstrate understanding of basic payroll accounting functions

    • Compare and contrast types of equity

    • Use the accounting equation to evaluate the financial position of an organization



  • Financial Statement Analysis

    • Describe and apply bank reconciliation to control cash

    • Explain the purpose of financial statements in business decision-making

    • Apply basic financial statement analysis techniques

    • Use quantitative data to assess overall business financial health
