Description
Basic Carpentry (Fast-Track) CE
Program Objective: Participants will demonstrate basic knowledge in carpentry that will prepare them to obtain an entry level position within the field. Program available in English or Spanish.
Description: Provides participants with the essential skills required of an entry-level employee in the carpentry industry. Program curriculum is aligned with National Center for Construction Education Research standardized national skills standards for the construction trades.
Competencies to be achieved:
- Orientation to the Trade, Building Materials, Fasteners, and Adhesives, Hand and Power Tools
- Intro to Construction Drawings, Specifications, and Layout
- Floor Systems
- Wall Systems
- Ceiling Joist and Wall Framing
- Intro to Building Envelope Systems
- Basic Stair Layout
After program completion, participants will be prepared to test for the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Carpentry Level One and Core certifications.
NCCER Core: Introduction to Basic Construction Skills is the ideal resource for exploring a career in the construction industry. Designed, written and reviewed by industry experts, the program features a highly visual design and technical tips from leading professionals, as well as numerous review and assessment questions.
