Program Synopsis: CompTIA A+ Certification


Course Objective: Graduates will demonstrate preparedness for the CompTIA A+ certification exam and knowledge of best practices in troubleshooting, networking, and security across a variety of devices to set the stage for CompTIA A+ IT careers.


Description: CompTIA A+ is aligned to the latest trends and techniques – covering the most core technical skills in risk assessment and management, incident response, forensics, enterprise networks, hybrid/cloud operations, and security controls, ensuring high-performance on the job.


Competencies to be achieved:


Upon completion of the class students will be able to learn a wide range of skills and gain industry specific experience in:



  • Demonstrate baseline security skills for IT support professionals

  • Configure device operating systems, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Chrome OS, Android and iOS and administer client-based as well as cloud-based (SaaS) software

  • Troubleshoot and problem solve core service and support challenges while applying best practices for documentation, change management, and scripting

  • Support basic IT infrastructure and networking

  • Configure and support PC, mobile and IoT device hardware

  • Implement basic data backup and recovery methods and apply data storage and management best practices
