Description
This course prepares students to perform the daily duties and responsibilities related to cardiac monitoring and telemetry. EKG technicians are employed in hospitals, private cardiology clinics, and diagnostic laboratories. Most employers prefer an individual who has completed a certification program. This program also serves as a stackable credential for students who have completed a Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy, EMT, or CNA program.
Students will also learn record-keeping, patient assessment, basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology of the cardiovascular system, cardiac conduction system, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and rhythm interpretation, basic life support, Holter event monitor, conducting cardiac stress tests. Students who complete this course will be eligible to test to become a Certified Electrocardiogram Technician (CET) through the NHA.

Student's whose classes are cancelled by the college will receive a full refund of all tuition and lab fees attributable to the cancelled class(es). Registration fees are only refunded if the College cancels all classes in which the student is enrolled.
No refund will be made if the refund request is made later than the last day of the next semester after the semester in which the class was taken.
