Description
Program Name: Facilities Management Professional
CIP Code: 19.0604
- Course Objective:
The FMP course is made up of four foundational modules essential for all Facility Maintenance Professionals:
Finance & Business -Learn the essential finance and business practices and how to integrate those into your function as an FM. Understand how to engage finance, legal, procurement, risk managers and others to maximize decisions for your organization.
Operations & Maintenance - Learn how to assess and inspect facility needs. Manage, oversee and monitor O&M of buildings, systems and equipment. Understand the processes for developing occupant service specifications and more.
Leadership & Strategy - Effective strategies require facility managers to be able to integrate people, place and process. They must be able to align the facility portfolio and functionality with its organization’s missions and available resources.
Project Management - Plan, initiate and execute projects. Understand the entire project life cycle and how to monitor and control project performance. Learn about the facility managers role in projects and how to evaluate outcomes.
Facility or facilities management (FM) is a profession dedicated to supporting people. It ensures the functionality, comfort, safety, sustainability and efficiency of the built environment - the buildings we live and work in and their surrounding infrastructure. Facility managers are the people who make sure we have the safest and best experience possible, by coordinating the processes that make the built environment succeed. No previous experience is required for this course but prior experience in trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing) is helpful.
