Course Objective: The certificate program will allow students to develop skills such as purchasing inputs, managing transportation, designing and locating facilities, monitoring logistics-related processes, and managing imports and exports. The courses also provide students with an understanding of the strategic impact of these activities.
Description: Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM) is one of the fastest growing and most important professions in today's global economy. Complex global supply chains are the foundations of many organizations, large or small. Logistics management is the oversight of the movement of goods and materials to and from an organization while supply chain management is the coordination of production, inventory, location, and transportation among the participants in the development of the goods.
Competencies to be achieved:
- Design and evaluate supply chain networks.
- Apply quantitative methods and data analytics for strategic planning, forecasting, and operational decision-making.
- Demonstrate ethical reasoning and compliance with standards in logistics and supply chain practices.
- Communicate professionally across written verbal, and AI-enabled platforms to support business operations.
- Lead and collaborate in technology-enabled teams across geographic, cultural, and organizational boundaries.
Course Descriptions:
BBA 292 Fundamentals of Logistics
Introduces core logistics principles, including procurement, inventory, transportation, warehousing, materials handling, packaging, information management, sustainability, and global logistics operations.
BBA 330 Supply Chain & Operations Management
Management of operations and supply chains, focusing on the processes that transform inputs into products and services. Emphasizes process design, analysis, and continuous improvement to enhance organizational performance.
BBA 428 Sourcing and Production in Supply Chain Management
Strategic sourcing and production planning within supply chain management, including demand forecasting, contracting, cost analysis, and performance metrics.
BBA 429 Logistics Management
Detailed analysis of logistics issues, such as network design, transportation strategies, warehousing operations, facility layout, and the use of information technologies in logistics decision-making.
BBA 430 Advanced Topics in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
Advanced concepts in logistics and supply chain strategy, including network design, procurement, supplier collaboration, inventory control, transportation, warehousing, packaging, global logistics, and information systems.
BBA 435C Capstone Project and Career Readiness in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
A culminating experience that integrates program knowledge through a comprehensive capstone project, applying SCM tools and methodologies to solve real-world problems. Includes career development components to prepare for professional roles in logistics and supply chain management.
