Course Objective:
Description: This medical billing and coding training program offers valuable training in medical, legal, ethical, and regulatory concepts central to this field, including HIPAA compliance, official coding guidelines, third-party payer requirements, and much more. You will discover all the phases of the revenue cycle—from patient registration through medical coding, claims submission, reimbursement, and collections.
Start your career in medical billing and coding with a cost-effective education that builds in-demand job skills. You will also be able to choose a voucher for the professional certification that best aligns with your interests and career goals.
Competencies to be achieved:
* Medical coding terminology is required for medical coding, including the structures and functions of the human body
* The disorders and medical procedures common to each body system, including musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, nervous, endocrine, integumentary, genitourinary, lymphatic, and immune
* Legal, ethical, and regulatory concepts central to the field, including HIPAA compliance and third-party guidelines for filing insurance claims
* The main coding manuals: ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS Level II
* How to code diagnoses, services, and procedures for all systems of the body

WITHIN THE 10 DAY GRACE PERIOD
Once a student is enrolled in an Advanced Career Training Program, they have 10 calendar days from the Start Date listed for their enrollment to advise ed2go of any need to drop their program for a refund. During this time frame, students can submit their drop/refund request to their student advisor. Partners may also request a drop on a student's behalf by submitting an ACT Program Enrollment Change Form which is located on the left of the Home tab in your Career Training Program Online Administration Center under Resources.
Please note:
* The 10-day refund policy may not apply to all programs. Some programs are non-refundable once the Student has received a start date for the program.
* Students may be responsible for material costs, if materials are not returned to ed2go, or received back in less than new condition.
AFTER THE 10 DAY GRACE PERIOD
Drop/refund requests received after the 10-day grace period may be approved on an exception basis only. If a drop/refund is approved, additional fees, such as material fees and instructor fees, may apply and will need to be collected prior to processing.
