Course Objective:
Description: This human resources certification course prepares you for a career in human resources (HR) and professional certification, covering industry standards aligned with the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). You'll learn the fundamentals of HR, including labor laws, hiring practices, and labor relations, along with key topics like affirmative action, diversity, equity, inclusion, and decisions related to retention, recruiting, and hiring.
The course also covers creating a high-performance workplace, performance appraisals, remote work, workplace communication, motivation, digital media, compensation, and benefits. Upon completion, you’ll be ready to start your HR career and sit for certifications including the HRCI's Professional Certification in Human Resources (PHR) or the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) exam.
Competencies to be achieved:
* Gather comprehensive knowledge needed to sit for the aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP human resources certification exams
* Obtain a broad overview of human resources professional practices
* Gain skills for handling recruitment, performance appraisals, and training processes

* Background check requirements for licensing and background restrictions for working in the occupation: N/A
* Certification Requirements: No HR experience is required to sit for the aPHR exam. You will need a high school diploma, but you don't need any additional education.
Similarly, no HR experience or degree is required for the SHRM-CP exam; however, a basic working knowledge of HR practices and principles or a degree from a SHRM Academically Aligned program is recommended.
If you plan to take the PHR exam after completing the course, you will need one of the following:
* A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a professional level HR position with a master's degree or higher, OR
* A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a professional level HR position with a bachelor's degree, OR
* A minimum of four (4) years of experience in a professional level HR position with less than a bachelor's degree

WITHIN THE 10 DAY GRACE PERIOD
Once a student is enrolled in an Advanced Career Training Program, they have 10 calendar days from the Start Date listed for their enrollment to advise ed2go of any need to drop their program for a refund. During this time frame, students can submit their drop/refund request to their student advisor. Partners may also request a drop on a student's behalf by submitting an ACT Program Enrollment Change Form which is located on the left of the Home tab in your Career Training Program Online Administration Center under Resources.
Please note:
* The 10-day refund policy may not apply to all programs. Some programs are non-refundable once the student has received a start date for the program.
* Students may be responsible for material costs, if materials are not returned to ed2go, or received back in less than new condition.
AFTER THE 10 DAY GRACE PERIOD
Drop/refund requests received after the 10-day grace period may be approved on an exception basis only. If a drop/refund is approved, additional fees, such as material fees and instructor fees, may apply and will need to be collected prior to processing.
