Program Synopsis Mental Health Support Professional Certificate  

Course Objective: 
Description: This program prepares students to become Mental Health Technician – Certified (MHTC) by the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) and the Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS) certification through the NHA. These combined certifications will prepare students to perform the processes and procedures in mental health care, pharmacology, medical office and patient care skills, including practice settings, and a broad understanding of psychological development, including mental health disorders.

Upon enrollment, students receive all necessary and required materials and courseware associated with the program, and they are not required to purchase additional components. Students are supported by highly skilled, trained, and certified Student Success Coaches throughout enrollment to assist with subject matter inquiries. 

Payment for the MHTC and CEHRS exams is provided by MedCerts. 

Competencies to be achieved:  
* Demonstrate understanding of Electronic Health Record (EHR) functionality and documentation 
* Distinguish intake, crisis care, inpatient care and discharge duties 
* Recognize psychology and substance use terminology and apply that knowledge where applicable to psychiatric team communication 
* Demonstrate skills in observation, communication, interpersonal needs and working well under stress 
* Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and HITECH privacy and security laws

Refund Policy (provide a summary if Refund policy is not listed on school website):
MedCerts provides students with the right to cancel their program and receive a refund, following the guidelines below. Please check your state or third-party funding policies as they may differ.

* Cancellation Period: You can cancel your program up to 21 days after the start date. To do so, submit a written cancellation notice (electronic or mailed) by the 21st day after your start date for a full 100% refund of tuition and fees.
* Material Return: To qualify for a refund, all MedCerts materials and supplies must be returned within 30 days of cancellation. You are responsible for return shipping costs. If materials aren’t received within 30 days, the refund becomes void. 
* Material Handling: All returned items should be insured, tracked, and packed to prevent damage. Any copies or backups of materials must also be destroyed. 
* Enrollment Termination: Upon cancellation, your enrollment with MedCerts ends, and program materials cannot be transferred to others.

Refunds will be processed within 30 days after MedCerts receives all returned items.
