Program Synopsis Medical Front Office & Electronic Health Record (EHR) Certificate (MedCerts) 

Course Objective:  
Description:This EHR and Medical Records specialist program is comprised of 5 courses designed to build a balanced knowledge base and help you excel among the competition. The combination of Intro to Medical Terminology & Human Anatomy and Microsoft Office Basics creates a solid base for your learning. Medical Office Procedures and Administration teaches you specific practices of medical administration, scheduling systems and HIPAA regulations. You’ll be comfortable working in any medical environment after participating in our 3D simulations and virtual scenarios that replicate common healthcare situations. Our online EHR course provides you the skills to develop and maintain electronic health records in both facility and private practice environments. You’ll understand the ethical, legal and regulatory requirements of handling medical records and the practical applications of processes. Through this program, you will qualify for two certification exams through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) – Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) and Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS). With these two lucrative credentials, you’ll qualify for career opportunities in any of these titles: Electronic Health Records Specialist, Health Information/Medical Records Administration/Administrator, Medical Office Computer Specialist/Assistant, Patient Services Representative.

Competencies to be achieved:  
* Understand basic human anatomy and utilize medical terminology in a healthcare facility 
* Comply with HIPAA/HITECH, OSHA, CMS and other healthcare regulations and laws 
* Accurately obtain patient information, verify insurance coverage, and prepare forms and reports 
* Employ Electronic Health Record and related Practice Management applications 
* Comprehend the use of Diagnosis and Procedure codes in the medical record 
* Demonstrate an understanding of the soft skill expectations of an allied healthcare professional

Refund and Cancellation Policy:  
MedCerts provides students with the right to cancel their program and receive a refund, following the guidelines below. Please check your state or third-party funding policies as they may differ.

* Cancellation Period: You can cancel your program up to 21 days after the start date. To do so, submit a written cancellation notice (electronic or mailed) by the 21st day after your start date for a full 100% refund of tuition and fees.  
* Material Return: To qualify for a refund, all MedCerts materials and supplies must be returned within 30 days of cancellation. You are responsible for return shipping costs. If materials aren’t received within 30 days, the refund becomes void.  
* Material Handling: All returned items should be insured, tracked, and packed to prevent damage. Any copies or backups of materials must also be destroyed.  
* Enrollment Termination: Upon cancellation, your enrollment with MedCerts ends, and program materials cannot be transferred to others.

Refunds will be processed within 30 days after MedCerts receives all returned items.
