Description
The Manufacturing Specialist Intensive (MSI) Program a targeted educational program designed to prepare individuals for the role of manufacturing specialist at TSMC Arizona. This program consists of 4 courses which are offered to students over a 15 week period. The MSI Program offers a clear educational pathway for high school students, career starters, and individuals seeking to transition into the semiconductor industry, providing them with the skills, tools, and industry knowledge needed to succeed in this high-demand field. To showcase the skills acquired by students and distinguish the MSI Program from other educational offerings, Grand Canyon University has partnered with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) to provide industry-recognized professional credentials for the competencies gained through the program
The program curriculum is designed to provide a thorough understanding of the semiconductor industry, wafer fabrication processes, standard operational procedures, and structured workflows as it relates to the specific responsibilities associated with the manufacturing specialist position. The knowledge, skills, and tools acquired through this program will offer students a strong foundation for pursuing employment with TSMC or other semiconductor manufacturers across Arizona. Upon completion of this program the students will receive a certificate of completion along with 16 credit hours from Grand Canyon University and industry recognized professional credentials from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Additional information:
- Background check requirements for licensing and background restrictions for working in the occupation: Program sponsor will perform background check upon offering the students an employment opportunity.
- Other requirements needed: Students will need to go through the Program sponsor (TSMC) vetting and interview process before registering for the program for the 1st offering which will be offered at GCU during the summer of 2025. For future and follow-on cohorts, GCU will own the vetting and interview process for program applicants.
