Description
A. Course Objective:
Description:
Throughout a 20-week online instructor-led training program, students will obtain in-demand clinical and administrative skills, earn the CCMA credential, and connect with healthcare hiring partners to start their career in Medical Assistant and related roles. Successful students will receive the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) — the country’s largest allied health certification agency. Since 1986, JobWorks Inc. – a national nonprofit organization – has helped career transitioners of all backgrounds prepare for and launch new, prosperous careers.
HealthWorks CCMA offers a best-of-both-worlds approach that pairs the interaction and community of a live class with the convenience and technology of an online course. Students participate in engaging, live virtual training sessions with a certified instructor and their peers and have access to one-on-one tutoring and assistance from their instructor outside of the virtual classroom. Live online classes are held on Zoom/Teams and scheduled from 6pm - 8pm ET each Monday and Thursday for 20 weeks. The remainder of the week is reserved for self-paced interactive learning, practice exams, study groups, job search activities, one-on-one support, and more. Most lecture and lab content will be available via interactive instructor-led videos, gamified modules, virtual 3D simulations, and AI-driven immersive scenarios. Students take the certification exam during the program and may be eligible for an exam retake should they need an additional attempt. Healthcare hiring partners connect with our students and graduates for relevant Medical Assistant job opportunities. One of our priority employer partners is CareerCircle — one of the largest privately held workforce and staffing solutions firms in the US — who regularly hires entry-level Medical Assistant candidates. After the program, students may continue to receive on-going job leads for relevant positions, other training and resource opportunities, and more.
HealthWorks CCMA relies on an intentional student curriculum and learning journey that prepares students to earn the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant credential. Additionally, modern business communication, job search strategies, and healthcare career exploration content are integrated throughout the program.
The CCMA credential is the first step in an exciting healthcare career. Those with the CCMA credential gain hands-on experience and often move on and up to next-level roles, such as phlebotomy technician or EKG technician. Successful HealthWorks CCMA students may even qualify for transfer credits with a partner educational institution to pursue a 2 or 4-year degree, such as those in Nursing.
