Description
1. Course Objective:
Description: The Medical Assistant 4-Hour Accelerated Program prepares individuals to provide medical office administrative services and perform clinical duties including patient intake and care, routine diagnostic and recording procedures, pre-examination and examination assistance, and the administration of medications and first aid. The program includes instruction in: basic anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, medical law and ethics, patient psychology and communications, medical office procedures, and clinical diagnostic, examination, testing, and treatment procedures

- Background check requirements for school/licensing: Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance required for any individual over the age of 22
- Background check requirements/restrictions for working in the occupation: Some employers may require a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance
- Other requirements needed:
- Students may be required to obtain a fingerprint clearance card for a clinical practicum
- Students will need a negative TB test for a clinical practicum.
- Prerequisites: At least 6 high school credits (required) and a 2.0 GPA
