Program Name: Certified Manufacturing Technologist (CMfgT)
1. Course Objective
Description: Training Services Delivered by Maricopa Corporate College in partnership with Education 2 Go. The CMfgT course is an entry-level program that benefits both new manufacturing engineers and experienced manufacturing engineers without other credentials. Throughout this manufacturing technologist course, you will cover a wide range of topics, from foundational knowledge such as mathematics, print reading, and engineering science to the application of manufacturing processes and materials properties. The course also covers design and development, including intellectual property protection and computer-aided design, as well as the use of digital tools and automation, including robotics and the Internet of Things (IoT). Quality control and continuous improvement are emphasized, along with business acumen and soft skills such as project management, finance, and labor relations. By completion of this manufacturing training, you will be prepared to become an SME-certified manufacturing technologist and enter a high-demand career field.
Competencies to be achieved:
- Obtain foundational knowledge, including mathematics, print reading, and engineering science

Background checks requirements for licensing and background restrictions for working in the occupation: In pursuing a CMfgT certification, a minimum of four years combined manufacturing-related education and/or work experience is recommended.
Other requirements needed:
Hardware Requirements: This course can be taken on either a PC, Mac, or Chromebook.
Software Requirements:
- PC: Windows 10 or later.
- Mac: macOS 10.6 or later.
- Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox is preferred. Microsoft Edge and Safari are also compatible.
- Microsoft Word Online
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins.
- Other: Email capabilities and access to a personal email account.
Prerequisites: The CMfgT is an entry-level certification that benefits both new manufacturing engineers and experienced manufacturing engineers without other credentials. This course requires basic computer skills, including the ability to open and manage windows, navigate websites, and perform common online tasks such as downloading files, completing forms, and using web-based tools.
