1. Course Objective:


Description: The Pharmacy Technician program covers personal and interpersonal skills; foundational professional knowledge; processing and handling of medications and medication orders; sterile and non-sterile compounding; billing, reimbursement, and inventory management; patient and medication safety; technology and informatics; regulatory issues; and quality assurance. Pharmacy technicians support pharmacists in daily operations, interact professionally with customers, and ensure compliance with regulatory laws. Employment opportunities include hospital, retail, clinic, home health care, and mail-order pharmacies, as well as pharmaceutical companies.


Competencies to be achieved: Prepare medications requiring compounding of sterile, non-sterile, and chemotherapy/hazardous products. Demonstrate knowledge in relevant scientific areas, including anatomy/physiology and pharmacology. Assist pharmacists in preparing, storing, and distributing medications requiring special handling and documentation (e.g., controlled substances, immunizations, chemotherapy, investigational drugs, or drugs with Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies [REMS]). Apply quality assurance practices to pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, devices, and supplies. Explain procedures and communication channels to follow in the event of a product recall, shortage, medication error, or other critical issue

Administrative fee of $400 will be deducted from the refund amount. All refunds will be made within 30 days of the receipt of electronic submission. Refunds will be calculated as follows: Orientation through Week 2- 75% refund, Week 3 through Week 4- 50% refund, Week 5 through Week 6- 25%, No refunds after Week 6.
