Description: Professional Dog Grooming


Competencies to be achieved:


The foundational professional dog grooming course is aimed at beginner groomers to learn


groomer and pet safety, grooming theory - methods and styles, and sanitation. Students learn how


to bathe, brush to set, and dry the dog coat properly. Students increase groomer and pet safety


knowledge and understanding of canine anatomy and skin and coat care. The course teaches breed


groups, styling patterns, and salon safety and sanitation. Soft skill instruction prepares students for


the workforce, focusing on collaboration skills, customer service, time management, listening skills,


stress management, and professional and client communication. Completing this course prepares


students to sit for the AKC-PGC Credential Exam.


 


This course can be accessed on a PC, Mac, Chromebook, or even a smartphone, offering


flexibility and convenience for all users. Students must have access to a reliable internet connection for accessing course materials and participating in online activities. Students must also have a personal email account for receiving course related communications and updates.
