1. Course Objective


Description:
The Dental Assistant Training Program is an accelerated, hybrid (online and in-person) occupational skills training program designed to prepare participants for entry-level employment in the in-demand healthcare sector within Maricopa County, Arizona.


The program is 8–10 weeks in length and integrates online didactic instruction with hands-on laboratory training and supervised clinical experience in a functioning dental office. The curriculum is competency-based and aligned with local employer needs and Arizona dental practice standards, ensuring participants are prepared to enter employment immediately upon completion.


Training includes both clinical and administrative skill development to increase employability across general and specialty dental practices.


Measurable Skills Gains / Competencies:
Upon completion, participants will be able to:



  • Perform chairside assisting during common dental procedures

  • Apply infection control and sterilization protocols in compliance with OSHA standards

  • Safely expose and process dental radiographs (X-rays)

  • Prepare operatories and manage dental instruments

  • Complete dental charting and maintain patient records

  • Demonstrate HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality

  • Perform front office functions including scheduling, billing, and insurance verification

  • Demonstrate workplace readiness skills (communication, reliability, professionalism)

The institution offers a $1,000 scholarship to eligible students. Applicants must submit an essay explaining their interest in becoming a Dental Assistant and their career goals. Scholarships are applied toward tuition and awarded based on the applicant’s commitment to the profession and completion of all admissions requirements.

Refund Policy

Three-Day Cancellation: An applicant who provides written notice within three (3) business days of signing the enrollment agreement is entitled to a full refund of all monies paid, less any credit or debit card transaction fees. Refunds are issued within 30 days of notice.

Other Cancellations: After three (3) business days, but prior to starting the program, refunds are issued less a $50 registration fee and any transaction fees.
