1. Course Objective:
Description: The Adult Echocardiography Certificate Program at AZ School of Medical Assistant is a rigorous, 12-month, non-degree program designed to prepare students for entry-level positions as cardiac sonographers. Through a blend of didactic instruction, hands-on laboratory practice, and clinical externship experiences, students will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to perform and interpret adult transthoracic echocardiographic procedures.
Competencies to be achieved:
Upon successful completion, graduates will: • Perform adult transthoracic echocardiograms independently and competently • Apply in-depth knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics • Recognize and differentiate normal and abnormal echocardiographic findings • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment following manufacturer protocols and best practices • Collaborate with cardiologists to support diagnostic and therapeutic decisions • Demonstrate patient care, safety, and professionalism in clinical setting

Admission Requirements:
