Description
1. Course Objective:
Description: The CAPM® Exam Prep Certificate is a beginner-friendly, intentionally designed program created by expert faculty at ASU’s College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA). It’s ideal for early-career professionals, career changers, or those already working in project environments without formal training who want to earn a globally recognized credential and advance their career.
The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®), issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI®), is the leading entry-level certification for project professionals. It signals to employers that you understand core project management principles, frameworks, and processes, including Predictive, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies.
This flexible, self-paced program includes seven structured courses aligned to the latest PMBOK® Guide and PMI®’s CAPM® Exam Content Outline (ECO). Developed by experienced CISA faculty who hold advanced project management credentials—including PMP®, PMI-ACP®, PgMP®, PMI-PMOCP®, and GPM-bTM—this program reflects both academic rigor and real-world industry relevance. As a PMI® Authorized Training Partner, ASU delivers instruction that meets the highest standards for quality and exam alignment.
Through interactive modules, downloadable tools, and a full-length mock CAPM® exam simulation, you’ll build both the confidence to pursue certification and the skills to launch or grow a successful project management career.
Important: This program prepares you for the CAPM® exam but does not include the official certification or exam fee. The exam must be scheduled and taken separately through the Project Management Institute (PMI®).
Competencies to be achieved:
- Confidently prepare for and pursue the CAPM® certification exam, and provides the required education hours needed to site for the exam
- Apply project management principles across the full project lifecycle
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, manage risks, and control project scope
- Distinguish between Predictive, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies and know when to use each
