This program will launch Spring 2027.
Prepares students to work as an HVAC Service Technician in residential, commercial settings and high-tech manufacturing environments where uptime, precision and efficiency are critical.
Credit Hours Required: 24
A special application is required for admission to the HVAC Service Technician Certificate program. It is recommended that students work closely with their advisor to ensure all application requirements are fully met. Refer to the website: www.yc.edu/hvac

Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the HVAC Service Technician Certificate program, the learner will be able to:
- Demonstrate safe work practices in compliance with HVAC industry standards.
- Perform repairs on HVAC equipment ensuring compliance with industry standards and restoring functionality.
- Resolve electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC machinery using systematic diagnostic techniques.
- Service Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) used in HVAC systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on residential and commercial HVAC systems.
- Clearly communicate service findings and recommendations to customers and employers.
