Description
A 1,200-hour postsecondary barbering program preparing students to sit for the Arizona Board of Barbering and Cosmetology licensure examination and obtain the Arizona Barber License. Curriculum includes 300 theory hours and 900 practical hours covering haircutting, shaving, beard design, chemical services, sanitation, anatomy, business and professional development, and state board exam preparation. Instruction is delivered in-person by Arizona-licensed Barber Instructors.

Refund Policy
Refunds are issued according to a percentage-of-program-completion schedule: 0–10% = 10% tuition owed; 10.1–24.9% = 50%; 25–49.9% = 75%; 50%+ = 100%. Full refund if student is not accepted or cancels within 3 business days of signing the enrollment agreement. Kit, books, registration fee, and $150 cancellation fee are non-refundable. Refunds processed within 15 days of termination.

$289.98 Milady's Standard Professional Barbering textbook and corresponding workbook. Required for all students; provided through the Academy. Non-refundable once received. Subject to 9.43% Arizona Transaction Privilege Tax.
Testing/Exam Fees
$177.00 Arizona State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology licensure examination fee, paid directly to the State Board. Required to obtain the Arizona Barber License upon program completion. Subject to change per the State of Arizona.
In-State Tuition
$10,500.00 Tuition for 1,200 clock hours of barbering instruction (300 theory + 900 practical hours), including all classroom instruction, clinic floor supervision, and student assessments delivered by Arizona-licensed Barber Instructors.
Other Fees
$150.41 Arizona Transaction Privilege Tax (sales tax) at the combined Pinetop-Lakeside rate of 9.43% (State 5.6% + Navajo County 0.83% + Town 3.0%), assessed on the kit and books only. Per Arizona Department of Revenue, educational instruction is exempt from TPT.

$10,500.00 Same tuition rate applies to all students regardless of state or district of residence. BORI Barber Academy is a private proprietary school and does not assess differential resident/non-resident tuition.
Registration Fee
$150.00 One-time, non-refundable application and registration fee due at enrollment. Covers application processing, student file setup, and orientation materials.
Supplies/Materials/Hand Tools (not included in tuition)
$1,305.00 Complete itemized barber kit including JRL Silver Clipper, JRL Silver Trimmer, Babyliss FX3 Electrical Shaver, professional shears and blending shears, straight razor, mannequin, capes, combs, brushes, disinfectants, and all other tools required for classroom instruction and clinic floor work. Provided by the Academy; non-refundable once received. Subject to 9.43% Arizona Transaction Privilege Tax.
